Sylvia Bartz

I will miss the GAP! Mother’s Day luncheon (truly my favorite event of the year!) but am grateful for the opportunity to donate to GAP! as a tribute to one of the Fabulous Females in my life — my mother-in-law, Sylvia Bartz. This amazing woman, who welcomed me into her family nearly 25 years ago, managed to raise two incredible sons all on her own while serving as a beloved teacher and middle school counselor. Sylvia Bartz blazed the trail for social-emotional learning before anyone thought to call it social-emotional learning. She has a unique ability connect with middle school girls, something I have always marveled at, and is a daily inspiration to me! -Cindy Bartz
